The 11-12 Art Gallery, has as its historical origin the literary group called "Monday Workshop", meeting place of writers (poets and novelists), and artists, that got together to share in their artistic experience at the beginning of the 1980's. In 1986, the first gallery is created under the name "Monday Workshop". In 1990, in the old San José neighborhood of Aranjuez, the gallery emerged in new installations with its current name, 11-12 Art Gallery.

The Gallery';s main activity has been geared to the promotion and rescue of the works of Costa Rican Historical Masters. Its activities also currently include the promotion of Costa Rican Contemporary Painters and Sculptors who posses a solid trajectory in the national and international art circles. In essence, 11-12 Art Gallery promotes colector art.
